The Author
Betty Jane Rapin, also known as BJ, began her writing career in 1947. She has published over 250 articles, essays, and poetry in anthologies, magazines, newspapers, and newsletters as well as on Web sites.
Her first published work at the age of sixteen was her contribution of two poems in Rhyme ‘n’ Rhythm, a poetry collection of new poets and lyric writers, published by the Haven Press. BJ is a contributing writer to the Conscious Women Series anthologies of Conscious Women, Conscious Careers and Conscious Women, Conscious Mothers.
BJ has also written a newspaper column about news and events in her community for The Evening Paper. Several first-person stories have also appeared in Focus magazine, a Sunday supplement of the Tribune-Review newspaper.
BJ’s work has been published in Good Times, Street Voice, Universal Light Messenger, Dancing Soul, Blue Star, Point of Light, Mystic World, ECK Writers Update, Eckankar Journal, RESA Star, and other magazines and newsletters. She has also written for Web sites, Angel Animals Network, and Writing on the Run.
Her first book, Dreams Designed by God for You, published in 2009, is a dream workbook and study guide. In her book, BJ reveals the how-to and systematic guidance on how to understand the language of your dreams. Along with innovative tips, tools, and techniques, she has used herself to further her dream awareness—making her life a fun adventure filled with beneficial, loving guidance.
Besides being a published writer, BJ is also a minister, spiritual teacher, inspirational motivational speaker, workshop facilitator, and an instructor for adult education for a local high school.
The George Tellafaro Show, The Joe Gearhing Show, Amplify, Community Challenge, Hot Line, Starting Today, and Pittsburgh’s Talking are some of the radio and television programs where she has been interviewed about her personal experiences with dreams, near-death experiences, out-of-body travels, reincarnation, and many other related topics.
When she was four years old, BJ discovered a parallel world. A year later, she was introduced to the idea of dream awareness because of sharing her dream experiences with her father, who was able to connect his interest in numbers.
By the age of twelve, BJ took yet another step forward following a near-death experience. She became aware of spiritual travel and working with spiritual beings. Throughout the years, she has been in the presence of angels, saints, spiritual guides, spiritual teachers, and spiritual masters who have worked with her in a variety of ways. She shares many of these experiences in Dreams Designed by God for You.

BJ has found that her life was not just an existence to have a multitude of experiences, but also a revealing, blessed, spiritual journey. A journey where she learned how to view life from the spiritual perspective for invaluable insight. A friend authored several books of poems, and reading them inspired Betty’s desire to try her hand at writing poetry once again. Therefore, the idea for this book, Life A Spiritual Journey, came into being.
Today, BJ resides with her husband Richard in Pennsylvania, where she is currently working on her third book.
